Building co-designed by the Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso together with the studios Husos, Elii and Ultrazul.
Infinito Delicias is a space for experimentation where culture, food and innovation come together to generate social impact. Driven by the Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso, this building in Madrid’s Las Delicias neighborhood is a benchmark for regenerative and inclusive architecture, recognized by the Holcim Awards 2023 as the most sustainable building in Europe. Wayfinding acts as the voice of the place, putting people at the center and enabling understanding, connection and interaction with the space and its activities.
Based on an analysis of the context and the people who live in and visit the place, we propose an inclusive, approachable wayfinding system embedded in the project’s identity. A dialogue that begins in the neighbourhood and extends to the city.
The strategy focuses on simple, clear naming that reduces information and brings clarity to a complex space. It is complemented by a central welcoming courtyard and the role of the host, emphasizing the human side of wayfinding beyond signage.
Signage appears at the final stage as the layer that gives visibility to the previous decisions. It is integrated into the architecture through the flexibility of wooden supports and the clarity of black on white information elements, providing contrast and legibility while maintaining visual calm in a stimulus-rich environment.
